Well here I am, attempting to make use of this sadly neglected blog!

Recently I have been drawn more and more towards Twitter, and as a result have stumbled across some fantastic blogs and tweets linked to education. So in my attempt to redeem myself for leaving the tumbleweeds to travel aimlessly across this blog page I thought I would share my findings...

• A fantastic phonics resource (currently a channel on You Tube) launches on it's own website later today - Mr Thorne Does Phonics is stuffed full of brilliant video clips to support phonics teaching and would be an excellent resources for both teachers and parents.

• Mark Warner, the amazing person behind the fantastic resource site Teaching Ideas and also a great blogger has started to publish a series of Top ICT Tips for Teachers posters that are fantastic for reminding teachers of the ways ICT can help - the first poster is to do with keyboard shortcuts - priceless! These can be found here

• Another great blog to read is The Heads Office - some great musings from a former Head who is very much still in the game with her views on the system today (also the lady responsible for my resurrection of this blog!!)

There are many many more to share, and I will aim to feature more of these as well as ramble on in my own little way from time to time!

A little plug now, we have added tons of new resources to the site recently including both freebies and ready mades, and have also taken on some great new suppliers. I'm beginning to get back to working on our own resources, so am always happy to accept the challenge - feel free to suggest resources and I'll do my best!

HOLIDAY CLOSURE

PCR are off on our holidays! Unfortunately this means that we will be unable to post any orders after 3pm on Friday 14th May until Tuesday 1st June.

Downloads will continue as normal as the system is automated, we will have access to email while away but due to time differences (and the fact that we are on our holidays!) there may be delays responding to your query, so please bear with us!

So, if you do order after 3pm on Friday 14th May please be patient with us, we will do our very best to get your order out as soon as possible from Tuesday 1st June. You will receive your normal order confirmation with this information in, and once your item has been despatched you will receive the order shipped email. If you order ready made resources (laminated) these will take a little longer as we will need to make them on our return.

Our Ts & Cs will be updated later this week to include the shipping despatch delay, please remember if you agree to these (the update will be highlighted) then you are agreeing to the delay in despatch.

Easter Opening Hours

We will be closed from Friday 2nd April to Monday 5th April inclusive for the Easter weekend. We will reopen on Tuesday 6th April at 10:30am.

The website will operate as normal for downloads during this time, ready made resource orders placed after 3pm on Thursday 1st April will be sent from Tuesday 6th April.

Christmas and New Year Opening Hours

Just to keep you posted on our opening hours over the festive season!

CLOSED : 24th - 28th December

OPEN : 29th - 30th December

CLOSED : 31st December - 4th January

Open as usual from 5th January 2010.

Please note there will only be posting during the days we are open, so if you order on a closed day it will be sent as soon as possible on the next open day.

We're back!

Bigger and better before, with over 200 new items added to our ever growing catalogue - we're back!

We have moved into our lovely new premises - pics to follow very soon, where you can come along and collect your purchases from us (and have a little peek at all the goodies at the same time!).

Our eBay store has gone through a fab transformation, look out for lots of new resources appearing there too - lots of work required but it will be worth it!

Thanks to everyone for your patience during the closure, it is much appreciated.

Some new services also include a personalised banner service - one huge banner (not in pieces!), designed and printed, posted to you for displays, sales, birthdays and celebrations!

Update on deliveries

As you will be aware, there has been a large amount of industrial action by Royal Mail across the country that has affected collections, deliveries and sorting. So far this has been in pockets of the country, and our region (Swindon) has been hit regularly by strikes at least once a week. Consequentially deliveries are taking longer than usual to get through, so if you have not yet received an order that you have been informed of shipping then it is likely this is caught up in the backlog.

Royal Mail have been posting updates to the situation on their website and will continue to do this as the action looks set to continue over the next few weeks.

If a National Strike goes ahead then deliveries across the country will be heavily affected. We will not be sending any Royal Mail deliveries on the day before the strike as it will only be held up in the system. We will despatch the orders after the action has finished - it is more likely to be delivered faster this way. We will where possible send larger orders via courier so they should not be affected (this will apply to all orders where the shipping totals £5.25 or more). If you would prefer to pay extra to ship via a courier during this time to ensure your order gets to you, please contact us for a quote before ordering.

International orders - please note that airmail will also be affected as it is collected and sorted by Royal Mail before it leaves the country. If you would prefer to use a courier then please contact us for a quote before ordering.

**Update 15/10/09 - There has been no Royal Mail collection today as the system is down for booking the post on - all orders will be shipped tomorrow (as long as the system is back up and running!)**

**Update 18/10/09 - Royal Mail workers have announced they plan to strike on Thursday and Friday this week (22nd and 23rd October). If this goes ahead our last posting of the week will be on Tuesday 20th October to avoid the mail being stuck. We will then post again on Monday 26th October as normal. Courier shipping will go ahead daily throughout next week for larger orders (shipping total £5.25 or more for UK orders), please contact us if you would prefer your items sent via courier during this time and we will give you a shipping quote.**
